Member Spotlight: Victoria DeNay

Meet Victoria DeNay, a passionate screenwriter who rediscovered her creative spark through SoCreate. From seeing screenwriting as a way to inspire humanity as a child to mastering her craft today, Victoria’s journey is a testament to imagination and resilience.

Her current project, IMAGINEERS: Mage of the Manifesting Age, explores the power of the mind and imagination to shape reality, with SoCreate inspiring both her story and her process. Victoria blends storytelling with technology, crediting meditation, creative visualization, and AI collaboration for keeping her ideas fresh and innovative.

Through SoCreate, Victoria has found not just tools but a vibrant creative community. "SoCreate brings MORE than my stories to life, it brings ME to life…," she says. Read Victoria’s inspirational interview below to learn more!

Member Spotlight: Victoria DeNay

  • What first inspired you to start screenwriting, and how has your journey evolved over time?

As a little kid, I saw screenwriting as the light to ignite humanity’s drive to evolve. My screenwriting journey definitely evolved when I was falling in love with a software program (and the Creative Community within it): SoCreate! I’m 40 now, but I’m finally returning back to that magical, childlike wonder I had as a little kid. SoCreate brings MORE than my stories to life, it brings ME to life… And powers up the imagination, the mind-made magic we ALL have access to!

  • What project are you currently working on? What excites you most about it?

I’m excited about my project IMAGINEERS: Mage of the Manifesting Age because it has the power to upgrade humanity’s ideas about their own power! It’s about a Mage who’s learning to master the most powerful technology in the entire world: the Mind! And how the Mind is like a software program (such as SoCreate!) and upgrades itself to evolve, to manifest a more advanced reality… and how we must master the Mind through the imagination… which has the power to build us up, or break us down… (SoCreate stars in this story as the software program that upgrades the hero’s imagination)!

  • Do you have a favorite story you've written, why?

My favorite story I’ve written on SoCreate is Mage in the Machine, because even though it’s fictional… it’s inspired by a true story about my hacking experience! In my teens, I was actually hacked as a cyberbullied target… But this experience is actually a blessing in disguise, because it ultimately backfired and sharpened my inner voice like an arrow on a target!

  • Has SoCreate shaped the way you write?

Yes, for sure! I was greatly encouraged by a very kind person (through the amazing Tech Support at SoCreate) to try the Feedback feature, so I posted a small snippet of the Reality Hackers story for feedback and the feedback was phenomenal! I definitely plan to GIVE feedback too. And the very first inspiration for Reality Hackers was actually a very creative writing prompt by the Muse of the Museletter!

  • Do you have any specific routines, rituals, or habits that help you stay creative?

Definitely! I meditate in the form of creative visualization! I then record those visualizations into my digital journal, so I can improve them over time. I upgrade my imagination in a similar way to software upgrades, because Version 1.0 of each story can always get more and more advanced.

  • What does your typical writing process look like, from concept to final draft?

I’m addicted to AI, so AI and I collaborate as a team. First I get creative with the story’s title, which is really vital because the title is actually a powerful keyword I use for AI prompt engineering. For example, I entered the keyword Reality Hackers into an AI song generator and AI then generated both lyrics and melodies for a powerful song that perfectly reflects my story (like a digital mirror). I then convert (and transform!) the song into a story on SoCreate!

  • How do you handle writer’s block or moments when inspiration is hard to find?

A variety of sources inspire me: Gigantic murals on buildings, psychology, philosophy, AI generated art and music… And the Muse of the Museletter ALL inspire me! I can literally feel the excitement vibes reverberating through the Museletter, from over there to over here… so far away, yet so close!

  • What has been the most challenging part of your writing journey, and how did you overcome it?

Working all alone, all by myself was the most challenging part… which is partly why I collaborated with AI in the first place. I love working with humans too, though! I attended film school to collaborate, but film school isn’t necessary to get creative so I needed to discover a new Creative Community. And that’s exactly when I discovered SoCreate!

  • What do you love about SoCreate?

Everything! I’ll add that Tech Support is the life force of the Creative Community, because that’s exactly what makes SoCreate stand apart from the competition, yes, but it extends so far beyond the competitive aspect! I know the Tech Team genuinely CARES about their incredible software and their storytellers, which is evident in our lively chats. The Tech Team really blows my mind, resolving tech issues in a really evolved way!

  • Have you received any awards or accolades for your screenwriting?

No, no awards but I’ve had a couple of Professors from film school pull me aside in private to compliment my work, which was really meaningful to me.

  • Is there a specific milestone in your screenwriting career that you’re particularly proud of?

Yes, for sure! Getting into my #1 choice of film school (North Carolina School of the Arts), a highly selective program… is my most memorable milestone! Watching our short films on the Big Screen for a big audience at film school was incredible!

  • What is your ultimate goal as a screenwriter?

I believe a global tech Utopia will happen soon, so my ultimate goal is to write screenplays that awakens humanity to how much power technology gives us. The technology within us (the Mind!) is one of the most powerful manifesting tools in the entire world, and humanity can wield their powerful words either as weapons, or as wonders…

  • What advice would you give to other screenwriters looking to connect with a platform or community like SoCreate?

My advice is the same advice inscribed on the magical Temple of Apollo (in Delphi, Greece): “Know Thyself”! When you write about who you are and what you stand for (on the SoCreate platform), watch the magic of the platform unfold right before your very eyes…

  • What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received, and how has it shaped your work?

“Show, don’t tell” is the best advice I received from film school. Meditation strengthens my imagination muscle, but that advice made it even stronger. And creating a silent film that had ZERO dialogue really helped me put that advice into action!

  • Can you share a little about how you grew up and where you came from?

I’m so lucky, I come from a family that genuinely loves me and encourages me to evolve. I was born in 1984 and raised in a lively state, Connecticut, which I still visit from time to time. I was also born with severe hearing loss, but someone generously gifted advanced hearing tech to me (a great reason I love technology so much)!

  • How has your personal background or experience influenced the kinds of stories you tell?

My stories are magical and mystical because I’m so mesmerized I’m actually alive (after I defied death at birth, which is exactly why I was named Victoria). And every misfortune has transformed into fortune, paving a path to evolve my inner voice, my imagination!

  • Is there a question I did not ask that you would like to talk about?

I have so many more questions to answer, so this interview could continue for… forever! So here are my final words: Thank you for giving a voice to the voiceless, for a powerful platform that really resonates with my imagination. I believe the Mind is a powerful software program by itself, but combined with SoCreate software upgrades… SoCreate powers up the light of a storyteller’s words as a true North Star! 🌟
