How to Use Quick Add to Create an Alias in SoCreate Screenwriting Software

You can assign aliases to Characters, Locations, and Props whenever you need to refer to these elements by alternative names while ensuring that your Story still recognizes these elements as the same.

To add an Alias to a Character, Location, or Prop:

  1. Type the @ symbol to bring up the Quick Add Feature. Search, arrow, or scroll down to the item from the list for which you want to assign an Alias and click the blue “Add Alias” button.

  2. Type in the Alias name and hit Enter, and your new Alias will appear in blue text in the Dialogue or Action Stream Item where it was @mentioned.

  3. You can add as many Aliases to an item as you’d like.

To manage Aliases, hover over the Character or Location in your Story Toolbar, or click the Prop name, then click the three-dot menu icon and edit. From here, you can see all Aliases for a Character, Location, or Prop, and add, revise, or remove them.

Changes made here will be reflected everywhere in your script where that Character, Location, or Prop is @mentioned.
