It's Music to Our Ears: Grant Whiting Joins SoCreate

Grant Whiting

Dad. Musician. Longboarder. Husband. And now Grant Whiting can add SoCreate UX Developer to his list of titles! We’re thrilled to welcome Grant to the team. And we hear he’s pretty thrilled to be here, too.

“There is a lot of industry knowledge on this team,” Grant said. “While I’m excited to contribute to it, I think I’m going to learn a ton.”

Grant started on the path to software engineering about five years ago, as part of the web development program at Laurus College. Early on, he skinned websites for local businesses, before diving into full-stack development. Today, he still enjoys building websites for local businesses in his free time.

“I also like playing guitar and cruising on my longboard, or building display stands for my wife’s business.”

Grant and his wife may soon have less free time on their hands: they’re welcoming baby number three to the family in April. Originally from Bakersfield, Grant said he couldn’t be happier raising a family on the Central Coast.

“Everyone is genuinely happy to be here. Even the people that don’t seem happy are in a relatively good mood,” he said. “I’ve made a lot of close friends here, and it’s also where I met my wife.”

Grant said he knew he wanted to work at SoCreate from the moment he learned about the company culture.

“SoCreate is the kind of employer who values its clients, employees, and modern technology”

Adding that you won’t find anything outdated at the office.

“Everything that is done here is deliberate, and there’s a great sense of purpose and pride in the work among the team and management. It’s refreshing to be part of a team that has so many strong values.”

And isn’t it refreshing to add new talent to the SoCreate mix? We think so, and we’re waiting patiently for Grant to show us what he’s got on the guitar!

Welcome to the band,
