How to Change Transition Types in SoCreate Screenwriting Software

To change a transition that you’re already using in SoCreate Screenwriting Software to a different transition type:

  1. Navigate to that transition and click the three-dot menu icon. Click Change Transition.

  2. A pop out will appear with options for transition type.

  3. Click the transition type you wish to use, such as camera transition.

  4. Within each transition type, you can change its various options.

  5. For camera transitions, choose from options such as cut to, dissolve to, fade in, fade out, flash cut to, freeze frame, iris in, jump cut, match cut, smash cut, stock shot, and more.

  6. Click the camera transition you wish to use, then click Save Transition.

  7. Other transition types include Passage of Time. To note passage of time in your screenplay, simply type how much time has passed, for example, two weeks later.

  8. You can also indicate Text on Screen as your transition type. Here, simply type what you want the text on screen to say, such as The End.

  9. Use the Commercial Break transition to indicate a commercial break in a TV show. From the dropdown, choose how long the commercial break lasts.

  10. Finally, use Story Transitions to add specialty scene types such as montages, flashbacks, continuous, and more.

Once you’ve clicked Save Transition, the changed transition will appear in place of the former transition.
